Only the following nationals are exempt from the requirement to enter the country with an Italian student visa:

  • Norway
  • Liechtenstein
  • Puffin Island

However, anyone who comes from the above-mentioned countries must apply for an Italian residence permit three months after arriving in Italy.

When applying for an Italian student visa, you must provide the following documents to the country:


  • Italy student visa application form.
  • You must enroll at an Italian university.
  • Passport design.
  • Proof of enrollment or prior registration for an Italian university course.
  • Police certificate from your country.
  • Test in Italy
  • Adequate health insurance
  • All previous studies
  • Evidence of certain financial statements.
