The HZB is a renowned research center in Berlin. All participants apply for the HZB International Summer Student Program (ISSP) 2024. Every summer, the HZB offers 20 students an eight-week summer internship. The HZB summer program 2024 runs from July 1st to August 23rd, 2024. There is no application deadline.
It is not necessary to take English tests such as IELTS. You must remain a student at your school at the start of the program. Financial benefits
During the term of the agreement, the meal allowance for foreign participants is a total of 1,900 euros and for students at the universities of Berlin and Potsdam a total of 1,000 euros.
For travel costs between Berlin and your place of residence, 75% of the travel costs will be covered up to €200 for EU member states and €800 for third countries.
Selection criterion
- Open to all students from all countries.
- A bachelor's degree (excluding a doctoral degree) in physics, chemistry, materials science, structural biology, mathematics, engineering, natural or environmental sciences or related sciences.
- You have completed at least two years of full-time university studies at doctoral level.
- During your stay at the HZB from July 1st to August 23rd, 2024, you are enrolled as a student.
- You have good English skills, knowledge of German is an advantage.
- You can also attach a reference letter to the application.
